POPIA Compliant Privacy Notice

Eride Technologies builds ethical, people-focused digital systems for African mobility and innovation. Our services include:

  • AI Travel Assistant — helps SADC-region travellers prepare visa documentation, run mock assessments, and get travel alerts.

  • DHA Vlist-Assist — guides travellers through South African visa overstay appeals.

2. Personal information we collect

We may collect the following categories of personal information:

  • Identity data: full name, date of birth, nationality, ID/passport details, photos, and visa documents.

  • Contact details: email, phone number, address.

  • Travel & immigration data: itineraries, visa types, overstay details, appeal records.

  • Sensitive personal information: medical certificates, police reports, or other documents supporting an appeal (processed with your explicit consent or where lawful).

  • Technical data: IP address, device identifiers, browser type, location (if you enable it).

3. How we collect your information

  • Directly from you when you register, upload documents, or contact us.

  • Automatically when you use our apps or website (cookies, logs, analytics).

  • From authorised third parties, such as travel agents or government agencies, where you instruct us or law allows.

4. Why we process your personal information

We use your personal information to:

  • Deliver and operate the AI Travel Assistant and DHA Vlist-Assist services.

  • Verify identity and documents for visa preparation or appeal eligibility.

  • Generate appeal letters, checklists, reminders, and travel alerts.

  • Communicate with you about your account, submissions, or legal obligations.

  • Improve our services, ensure security, and comply with the law.

We process personal information under lawful bases recognised by POPIA, including your consent, contract performance, legal obligations, and legitimate interests.

5. Sharing your information

We may share your personal information with:

  • Service providers (hosting, payments, verification) under contract.

  • Government bodies (e.g., Department of Home Affairs) when you authorise or law requires.

  • Legal advisers or regulators when required.

  • Partners who help deliver our services, under strict confidentiality.

Your data may be stored or processed in other countries. Where we transfer personal information across borders, we ensure adequate protection in line with POPIA.

We use technical and organisational measures (encryption, access controls, monitoring) to protect your personal information. However, no system is 100% secure.
